Stocks Farm has been in the Capper family for 55 years, bought by Mark Capper and now run by his son, Richard and his wife, Ali. The family work tirelessly to ensure the farm is run in a sustainable way whilst promoting British hops and apples. Ali is so passionate about British hops and apples she is on The British Hop Association, The Hop Industry Committee, the NFU Horticulture Board and the Norton Cider Growers Association. Her talks are filled with passion and she is ensuring her British produce is getting the recognition it so widely deserves.
Stocks Farm grows 3 main varieties of desert apple, Gala, English Braeburn and a variety that was discovered in the village – Red Windsor, a sweet and tangy apple, with a dark red skin, a real treat for the apple lover. The apples are picked by hand, from September to mid-October, to ensure the best possible product which is then packed and transported to Wye Fruit.
